No one has ever been prouder of ill-fitting pajamas.
Fabric? Who knows. (Some quilting cotton). Pattern? HAHA. I drafted these myself. There are gussets over the hips because I forgot that woven fabric isn't like knitted fabric- no stretch. The folded elastic casing is a disaster. I love them irrationally.
Also in the bedroom department? New pillowcases. No pattern for these either. I pulled a spare from our linen closet, took some measurements and then whacked away. These- there's a pair- thrill me. They also FIT. You guys, I made something useful! Exciting.
And check it! I made a skirt! It's a mash up of a bunch of Simplicity patterns. Apparently, I sew the same way I knit: which is to say, I do not follow directions AT ALL. This is some long-stashed fine wale corduroy, in a gored skirt with a faced waist band, an invisible zipper and a double folded hem. Things it is: properly fitting, very cute. Things it is not: wrinkled, puckery or otherwise how it appears in this lousy image.
(boots: Cole Haan)
Oh, I think the skirt is super cute! I always thought the reason I would suck at sewing is because I never follow a pattern. Apparently that's not true! *Applause!*
cheers!
