Instant Socks, Part II

Instant Socks, Part II

From just under two skeins of Limbo Mexiko by Schoeller Stahl on US3s at a gauge of 6 stitches per inch. Truly instant, cast on Saturday, cast off Monday. An original Punster Fudges Her Socks Pattern:
Cast on 41 stitches, join in round by kniting the first and last stitch together, work in k2p2 ribbing for one inch. Work until leg measures appropriate length (8 color changes...), make slip stitch heel over 14 rows, turn heel with short rows, pick up stitches, k2tog or ssk as appropriate to get back to 40 stitches. Work 7 color changes from base of heel, reduce for heel by k4k2tog all around, k 4 rounds even, k3k2tog all around, k 3 rounds even, k2k2tog all around, k 2 rounds even, k2tog all around, break yarn, pull through remaining stitches twice and weave in ends. Enjoy!

I have decided I like the break and weave better than the Kitchener. Not only is it totally mindless, I like the shape of rounded toe more than the vaguely elf-ish boxes caused by the decreases. Yay!
